Designed for children who are ready for the excitement of a loft bed but are still quite young, this compact design keeps the mattress at a practical everyday height while creating valuable storage and activity space underneath. It has everything they want in a single bed, a few steps to climb, two cupboards with doors underneath and a pull-out desk.
It is often chosen as a child moves from a cot or toddler bed. The practical height makes changing sheets and helping with bedtime routines easier. The closed cupboards are great for storing all their clothes or toys. As they get older, the desk will become more useful first, as a creative space and later as a convenient study area.

Many families choose this bed while their child is still quite young. At first, the pull-out desk does not even need to be assembled. With the desk left out, the space beneath the loft naturally becomes a fun cubby or hiding place that many children love.

Most families choose a Standard Single or King Single model, but some customers have asked for the same clever Spacesaver design with a larger sleeping area for teenagers, guest rooms or adults. In response, we developed a special Double-size modification that can be ordered together with this bed.
The Double version retains the same core Spacesaver concept, including the pull-out desk and under-bed storage, while providing a larger sleeping area. How This Design Came About
After introducing the Compact Spacesaver Loft Bed with open shelving, some families told us they loved the compact layout but preferred a tidier appearance with toys, books and everyday items stored out of sight.
Rather than changing the overall design, we developed this cupboard version. It keeps the same compact footprint, flexible pull-out desk and low sleeping height while replacing the open shelving with enclosed cupboard storage.
It is one example of how customer feedback continues to shape the Spacesaver range, giving families a choice of storage styles without asking them to compromise on the practical features they value.
