Triple Bunk Beds for Three Sleepers
When three children share a bedroom, fitting three comfortable sleeping spaces into the room can be challenging. Our triple bunk beds are designed to make better use of the available floor space by combining three sleeping positions within a bunk-bed arrangement.
There are different ways to achieve this. Our Triple Inline and Triple Transverse bunk beds provide three separate full-size beds, while our Single-over-Double design combines a Standard Single upper bed with a larger Double bed below.
Three Separate Beds or Single-over-Double?
The best configuration depends on how the beds will be used and the space available in the bedroom.
Our Triple Inline and Triple Transverse Bunk Beds provide three separate sleeping positions. They can be made for Standard Single or King Single mattresses, making them a good choice when each child needs their own individual bed.
Our Single-over-Double Bunk Bed takes a different approach, combining a Standard Single upper bed with a Double lower bed. It still provides sleeping space for three, but with a larger shared lower sleeping area rather than three individual beds.
All three designs use vertical space to accommodate three sleepers, allowing you to choose the arrangement that best suits your family and bedroom.
Triple Inline or Triple Transverse?
If you prefer three separate beds, our Inline and Transverse designs provide two different ways to arrange them within the room.
Triple Inline Bunk Bed
The three beds are arranged in an offset inline configuration, making good use of a longer wall. This can work particularly well in bedrooms where there is sufficient wall length but keeping the beds within a relatively narrow footprint is important.
Triple Transverse Bunk Bed
The Triple Transverse design changes the direction of the sleeping positions to create a different footprint. This can make better use of rooms where an inline arrangement is not the best fit and also incorporates useful integrated shelving.
Neither layout is simply a larger or smaller version of the other. The main consideration is which arrangement makes the best use of the shape and available wall space in your bedroom.
Why We Offset the Three Beds
Stacking three beds directly one above another can make the middle and lower sleeping areas feel enclosed and restrict usable sitting and head space.
Our Triple Inline and Triple Transverse designs instead use offset sleeping positions. This allows us to provide three full-size sleeping spaces while creating a more open and practical arrangement around the beds.
The offset layouts also allow us to incorporate useful shelving and make better use of the overall bunk structure.
Standard Single or King Single Triple Bunk Beds?
Our Triple Inline and Triple Transverse bunk beds can be made for Standard Single or King Single mattresses.
Standard Single keeps the overall dimensions more compact, while King Single provides additional width and length where the bedroom has sufficient space. Because a triple bunk is a substantial piece of furniture, it is particularly important to consider the overall room dimensions and the space required around the bed when choosing between the two sizes.
Our Single-over-Double model uses a different configuration, with a Standard Single upper sleeping position and a Double lower bed.
