This clean, space-efficient design sits between our Low Mid-Height Bunk Beds and a traditional full-height bunk. It gives families more headroom between the beds than a low mid-height model, while keeping the upper sleeping position lower than a conventional full-height bunk.
With two permanent full-sized beds in a compact footprint, it is an excellent choice for families wanting a proper bunk bed with a lower height or a, lower-priced alternative to larger storage bunk beds. Its practical height also makes changing sheets, bedtime routines and helping younger children into bed easier.

Traditional bunks maximise the space beneath the lower bed. This design takes a different approach: it raises the lower bed slightly while keeping the upper bed lower than a full-height bunk.
The result is noticeably better sitting room between the beds without making the overall bunk excessively tall. It offers a comfortable compromise for families who would like more headroom than a low mid-height bunk provides but do not want a full-height design.
The built-in front ladder keeps this design simple and space efficient. Its deep, comfortable treads provide practical access while avoiding the extra footprint of a ladder that projects out from the side of the bed.

How This Design Came About
After developing our Low Mid-Height Bunk Bed range, some families told us they wanted a little more room between the bunks but did not need a full-height storage bunk. This design was created to fill that gap.
By combining a medium-height sleeping position, a comfortable front ladder and a clean, minimalist structure, we created a practical everyday bunk bed that offers excellent value while retaining the benefits of Australian-made, built-to-order furniture.
This front ladder design later became the basis for other Fitting Furniture products, including our Triple Inline Bunk Bed and High Loft Bed with Integrated Desk. It remains an important part of how our range has evolved around real family needs.
