Cubby House Loft Beds
A generous Cubby House play space below, with Easy Climb Steps and a storage drawer beneath every step.
This version combines an exciting raised sleeping space with a generous cubby area for playing, reading and relaxing. The Easy Climb Steps sit at the end of the bed, giving children a more gradual route to the upper bunk while adding valuable drawer storage.
Add a beanbag, favourite books, toys, games or cushions underneath and let children make the space their own. The sleeping platform is deliberately higher than our Low Height Loft Beds for a more useful area below, but lower than a typical full-height loft.
The space underneath is not leftover space — it is part of the design. Add a beanbag or cushions and use the nearby shelves for favourite books to create a reading nook. Keep toys and games close by and leave the centre open for imaginative play, or make it a quiet little retreat away from the rest of the bedroom.
The Cubby House range is not intended to fit a conventional study desk underneath. Instead, it creates a play, reading and relaxation area without raising the sleeping platform to the height of a full study loft. Our High Loft range is designed around that different purpose.
The Easy Climb Steps provide a more gradual route to the upper bed than a ladder. For some families, that is simply the access style that best suits their child and their everyday routine.
The steps do not just consume additional bedroom space. A drawer beneath every tread turns the structure into useful storage for clothing, toys, games, spare bedding and everyday bedroom items.
This design distributes storage between the drawers beneath the steps and the shelving that serves the cubby area. Children have places for the belongings they use every day without closing in the generous open space beneath the loft.
That is a different storage philosophy from the Integrated Bookshelf model, which focuses on substantial room-side book storage. Here, the drawers and cubby shelving keep toys, games, books and favourite possessions close to the play space itself.

Each model creates the same imaginative cubby experience, but gives families a different way to balance bookshelf storage, step access and the room space available. This model is the choice for families who prefer Easy Climb access and useful drawer storage.

Low Height Spacesaver Loft Beds have a lower sleeping position with storage and a movable activity or study desk that becomes increasingly useful as a child grows.
Cubby House Loft Beds are higher to create more useful play, reading and relaxation space underneath.

The Cubby House range began with the Integrated Bookshelf & Ladder model. Some families liked the generous play space underneath but preferred the Easy Climb Steps already available on other Fitting Furniture designs.
That led to this variation. Rather than simply replacing the ladder with steps, we used the step structure productively by incorporating storage drawers beneath each tread.
The result is the longest of the three Cubby House designs, but families choosing it gain Easy Climb access and additional drawer storage while retaining the generous open cubby space underneath. It is another genuine example of the range evolving around different family preferences.
